The iPod Touch as a PDA

The main problem with the touch is the way it silos applications. Applications can't in general interact with each other's data, and there is no shared filesystem.

This means you're stuck with other people's applications. The address book doesn't show birthdays. Websites in the address book aren't clickable. Without copy and paste, this is a pain.

Theres lot of nice apps, but theres no good ways of making them work well together.

There's no general way to transmit data between different devices. Air Sharing is a nice app to transfer between computers and the touch though.

can apps expose apis so that they can work together?

Can there be middleware apps, that redirect among exposed apis to be the traffic cop for exposed function?
